As reported by Hanteo Chart on the 30th, BTS's newest album 'Arirang' claimed the top position on the weekly world chart as well as the album chart, with the tracking period from March 23 to March 29. According to a forecast feature from Billboard, issued on the 30th, 'Arirang' has secured the top rank on the 'Billboard 200' chart dated April 4. The album debuted with 641,000 album units, representing the most substantial weekly performance for a group album since the inception of unit tracking in December 2014. Of these units, 532,000 were attributed to pure album sales, including both physical and digital acquisitions. This achievement marks a new record for the highest weekly sales for a group album in over ten years.
Furthermore, BTS has dominated international music rankings. The group excelled on the weekly charts of the global audio and music streaming service Spotify for the period of March 20 to 26, leading the 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' global charts. Notably, the album's main track 'SWIM' achieved the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', while all 14 tracks from the album landed within the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' sustained its top rank on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for nine days (March 20-28) and seven days (March 23-29), respectively. Moreover, every track from the album featured on the latest chart rankings of both platforms. Even ten days post-release, the entire album, not just the lead track, continues to enjoy significant popularity, highlighting the global fanbase's affection.
In parallel, BTS is set to conduct their 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. In October, they plan to hold stadium concerts in various South American countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Impressively, all 46 scheduled performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have been sold out in advance, underscoring their remarkable ticket-selling prowess.
